"I've always loved drawing and animals, and the two naturally combined from a very early age leading me towards my current full-time art career. My work is detailed and realistic but I don't strive to produce photo-real artwork, it's about capturing the inner feel and emotion that each animal brings out and that usually results in something that is a pretty accurate representation of my subject. I enjoy getting lost the details; the little flick of hair, the way the muscles ripple and flex, the nuances of colour as the light flows across the subjects body - these subtleties help me bring what I see to the viewer's eye and help me communicate what I am feeling. I like to create things that make me, and hopefully other people, smile."
